Great place to get away from it all! Very quiet and huge skies! we liked our stay and will defiantly be back to explore the greater area. John is a great host and very communicative.

Dream Moab Trip
I have wanted to come to Moab with my wife and friends for years to experience the parks, trails and culture for years. The trip was even better than I could have imagined. The cabin is beautiful and the serene mountain setting was just the thing we needed to reset and recover from the exciting days we had. Yes, the driveway is a little rough and you have to traverse some dirt roads, but the payoff is completely worth it. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone considering a Moab vacation and, like us, desires to stay away from the crowded downtown of the city.

Getting away from the people
The best way to describe it would be to say its an authentic mountain experience. Listening to the Elk and other various animals adds to the grandeur.

Just what we needed
LOVED this cabin in the woods/on the mesa. So peaceful. Gorgeous views. Night skies were amazing. We spent a couple of days exploring and hiking at Arches National Park and a couple just enjoying the cabin and surrounding area. It’s not a short drive to town so be sure you get groceries you need if planning to stay awhile. John was super helpful and had great suggestions for things to do and see. Will definitely be back!

Social distancing at its best!
If you want to be smack in the middle of some of the best scenery Moab has to offer, and have it all to yourself, this is the place. The drive from Moab is long, and rough at times, but felt like driving through a national park. The night skies are unreal. The cabin itself was rustic and charming. Very cozy and comfortable for our family of four. Great communication with owner. Highly recommend this property. It’s a very special place.

Love this cabin!
This was our second time staying at John’s cabin and it was fantastic. Easy, comfortable, with beautiful views and access to both La Sal mountain activity and the parks of Moab. John is an excellent host-quick to respond and puts his guests first. We’ll be back again!

Extreme comfort away from it all
Loved walking/hiking on the property. Views are amazing. It is a bit away from town which in the long run is a blessing. Collect a weeks worth of groceries.... so you spend the days seeing sights, 4x4 off roading or what makes you happy. Best thing is going back to a peaceful, relaxing and beautiful sunset... knowing all you need is waiting for you. Loved the many hummingbirds, a few friendly cows and friendly dog. We loved our stay.

Beautiful remote home, away from it all
Wonderful stay despite a wicked snowstorm. The home has all the amenities to create a comfortable stay. Super comfortable beds! Great views from a wrap-around porch. It is quite remote- 1/2 mile off a “main road”, so 4-wheel drive is definitely needed in snow (as recommended by host). You’re also at the mercy of municipality to plow the road, which may take a few days, depending on weather-so be prepared. Still, we made the most of it and plan to return.

Amazing Views
Views from this private cabin are breath taking - snow capped mountains in one direction and red canyons in the other - all seen from the deck. The half-mile drive on the private lane to get to the cabin is quite an adventure and might be a challenge to vehicles with low clearance.

Perfect spot to escape the crowds
A bit remote, but that's the point - close enough to get into town every day for the amenities, but quiet and secluded. The property has all of the benefits of remote camping, with the comforts of a home. We rode UPS/LPS right from the house several days.

Great location, wonderful vacation
I stayed here with a group of friends over the Thanksgiving holiday. The house was spacious, clean and cozy, and the location was excellent -- great access to hiking and mountain biking, and far enough from the Moab craziness without being too remote. Peaceful, quiet and the views were spectacular.

Beautiful cabin, excellent location for exploring the La Sals!
Loved this cabin so much. Communication with owner and property manager was excellent. We had everything we needed there and the location and views just can't be beat. Perfect weekend in the mountains. We have a Subaru Forester and it had no trouble getting to the cabin; however, I imagine if there were heavy rain or snow, you'd likely need a higher clearance/stronger vehicle, so keep that in mind when booking.

Unforgettable!!
The goal when planning this trip was to depart from our usual summer beach trip and get the kids out for a new experience they will never forget. 100% accomplished and neither will we. Every twist, every turn is a new sight. The roads to the cabin are as described by other and utterly breathtaking. The cabin was very comfortable. Coming mid July felt like a risk but we were perfectly compfortable without the air conditioning. We were fortunate to have some rain showers in the evenings. Castle Valley was very near the cabin and there are many areas to explore without making the trip all the way down the roads. We are so glad we made the decision to stay high up at the cabin. The landscape changes make for a grand experience. It’s like being on the corner of three planets at once. I will never forget this trip!
